Available Versions
- CrN or TiN surfacing
- Tempered nitride steels
- High-alloyed tool steels, fully hardened
- Powder-metallic steels
- Flight-hardfaced screws
Fully Hardened Screws
The base material for our fully hardened screws is high-alloyed tool steel hardened to approx. 60 HRC. As each hardening step can cause dimensional distortion due to the high heat input and subsequent cooling, the screw must be aligned before final grinding. This is required to ensure concentricity of the inner and outer screw diameters for smooth running characteristics.
The screw is aligned while still hot in a gentle process involving no mechanical energy input. This is essential for precise dimensional trueness in subsequent operation.
We offer screw O.D.’s up to 130 mm!
Flight-Hardfaced Screws
Hardfaced flights are ideal for user applications requiring extremely high wear resistance. The hardfacing is applied as an approx. 2 mm thick layer welded onto the flight surface. Flight hardfacing can also be applied to used screws in most cases.
Available Versions
- Tempered nitride steels
- Highly wear-resistant REILOY bimetallic
- Highly wear-resistant XALOY bimetallic
- High-alloyed tool steels, fully hardened.
The following conditions can cause increased wear:
- High processing temperatures (reduction of high-temperature strength)
- High melt pressures in conjunction with high temperatures
- Fillers and/or reinforcing additives in resin formulation
- High friction-causing pitting and pock marking
- Corrosion by flame-retardant additives
- High throughputs causing high forces on the cylinder and screw.
Plastication Cylinders
Bimetallic Cylinders:
The Answer to Wear and Corrosion in Plastics Processing
We use top-of-the-line alloys which are ideal for avoiding wear and corrosion problems in almost all types of extruder cylinders.

Application Fields
Processing of thermoplastics (e.g. ABS, EVA, PA, PC, PE, PI, POM, PS, PBTP, PVC, PP), thermosets (e.g. phenolic resin grades 11, 12 and 31, polyester resin grades 801 – 804) and elastomers.
Check Valves

Function
Check valves in injection moulding systems prevent backflow of the melt into the screw channels, therefore ensuring complete delivery of the metered melt volume. A check valve consists of a screw tip, a check ring and a seat or adapter ring. Special versions are available including a control ring.
Available Versions:
Wear-resistant check valves: available in high-alloyed tool steels, fully hardened, with hardfaced flights or in powder-metallurgic materials.
Hardfaced Screw Tips
- High wear resistance due to the hardfacing of the contact surface
- Service life several times longer than that of non-hardfaced tips.
Application Fields:
Processing of resin formulations incorporating glass-fibre reinforcing additives or fillers, etc.
Advantages:
The hardfacing provides an extremely resistant contact surface and an optimum material pairing between the screw tip and the check ring. As a result, the check ring moves with minimum friction and wear. Hardfaced screw tips can be supplied as OEM equipment or refurbished on used tips.
Ball Check Valves
Ball Check Valve TIN Covered.
For tight sealing, low wear, fast cycle timesApplication Fields:
Processing of low-viscosity or abrasive melts.
Function:
The melt passes through the radial inlet channels, around the ball and into the injection nozzle. The force of the melt flow keeps the ball pushed forward. In the injection cycle, the moulding pressure presses the ball back against the sealing ring, therefore preventing backflow.
Available Dimensions:
Ball check valves are available for screw diameters > 45 mm and are used in place of conventional check valves.
Low Wear:
Unlike conventional check valves, ball check valves are subject to almost no wear. This is highly beneficial from a technical standpoint and provides substantial cost savings. In most cases, only the sealing ring and the ball need be replaced at infrequent intervals. Profiting from advantages like this, many users of ball check valves see no need to return to using conventional check valves.

Mixer Check Valves

For optimum mixing and homogenizing characteristics even at low injection pressures
Application Fields:
Processing of formulations containing additive (masterbatch) concentrates.
Function:
The peripheral mixing zones mix the concentrate/melt blend immediately prior to injection to ensure uniform colour.
Available Dimensions:
Mixer check valves can be used with medium to large screw diameters in place of conventional check valves.
No modifications to the screw or the cylinder are required.
Wear Resistance
Our mixer check valves are highly wear-resistant and ideal for processing corrosive or abrasive materials.
Plasticating Components from Ganzelewski Maschinenbau GmbH
The increasing use of compounds with abrasive fillers created a demand for abrasion resistant barrels. Especially the use of glass reinforced compounds for injection moulding causes premature wear.
REILOY 121 Barrels are bimetallic grades for most injection applications. They give excellent abrasion and improved corrosion resistance. They cost more than nitrided barrels but they will outlast many times over.
For the outstanding quality we award 5 stars to REILOY.
Screws
Abrasive wear on screws is often caused by fillers such as glass fibers, calcium carbonate or barium ferrite. The mechanism of abrasive wear is much the same as emery cloth on metal.
With help from the very hard and fine particles the screw is scoured off each time they make contact.
Another factor affecting wear is corrosion caused by polymer degradation or flame retardant additives.
The screws from Ganzelewski Maschinenbau GmbH are always the right choice. Whatever your use is – we have the right screw. High quality standards ensure proper fit and performance at competitive prices. Full length coatings are available and offer powerful protection to processors using fiberglass or talc reinforced resins.
Check Valves
Most valves can be divided into two categories:
Ball Check Valves and Sliding Ring Valves
No valve design is perfect for every application, therefore we offer several distinct designs to ensure the proper component for your special use.
In most cases our through-hardened valves, which are constructed from highest quality tool steels or powder metal, will meet your expectations.
For very high wear we recommend TiN and CrN coated tip assemblies, which have excellent non adhesion properties.
Nozzles
We offer nozzles, nozzle bodies and nozzle tips manufactured from tool steels, stainless alloys to whatever material necessary to meet your particular needs. Nozzle tips in combination with nozzle bodies are cost-effective and easy to replace.
Mixers
Mixing devices are designed to give superior mixing characteristics. Mixers are screwed into the screw, for this reason the screw must be constructed shorter. The design is to be able to give homogenous melt and proper colour dispersion.
