Fully Hardened Screws

The base material for our fully hardened screws is high-alloyed tool steel hardened to approx. 60 HRC. As each hardening step can cause dimensional distortion due to the high heat input and subsequent cooling, the screw must be aligned before final grinding. This is required to ensure concentricity of the inner and outer screw diameters for smooth running characteristics.
The screw is aligned while still hot in a gentle process involving no mechanical energy input. This is essential for precise dimensional trueness in subsequent operation.
We offer screw O.D.'s up to 130 mm!

Flight-Hardfaced Screws

Hardfaced flights are ideal for user applications requiring extremely high wear resistance. The hardfacing is applied as an approx. 2 mm thick layer welded onto the flight surface. Flight hardfacing can also be applied to used screws in most cases.
